Choose the correct answer.

On which of the following female reproductive parts does the pollen land?
A. Stigma
B. Pistil
That's Correct!
It's Wrong!

Pollen from the male reproductive part of a plant lands on the stigma, a part of the female reproductive structure, and is trapped there in order to then be able to reach the ovary for fertilization.

Pollen is made in the anther of the male reproductive system. It is then blown or carried to another plant and lands on the stigma. The stigma is the female reproductive part at the top of a long stalk which leads down to the ovary where fertilization takes place.

On the other hand, a pistil contains the whole female reproductive part of a flower. It contains three parts: the ovary at the base, a long stalk and the stigma at the top where the pollen from the anther, the male reproductive part, can land.
